DESCRIPTION:American Hiking Society (AHS) will invite the public to celebrate National Trails Day® (NTD) on June 6\, 2020\, in two ways: \n1. Share social media content: \nInvite your community to share why access to trails and natural space are important to them. Encourage people to tag you\, #NationalTrailsDay\, and @AmericanHiking in their social media posts. Photos tagged with @AmericanHiking and #NationalTrailsDay will be entered into the NTD photo contest with a chance to win a gear prize package. \n2. The #PublicLandsProtector Pledge \nThe pledge is a simple way to take action to protect trails and fight for equitable access to quality green space\, even while social-distancing. We’ll provide easy actions people can take; you can create a custom call to action for your community too. Everyone who takes the pledge will be entered to win prize packages each week in May and a grand prize after NTD. \nWe hope you will join us and engage your community in the month leading up to NTD with these actions. \nWe know your time is incredibly valuable\, and many organizations have limited capacity right now\, so we have put together a promotional toolkit (and a special toolkit for land managers)\, filled with helpful content\, to help you connect with your community for NTD. Feel free to use the templates as-is or modify them to suit your needs. \nThe NTD Promotional Toolkit provides everything you need to promote NTD\, trails\, stewardship\, and other programs. The public’s interest in trails and the outdoors is elevated right now and NTD provides a key opportunity to showcase recreation opportunities\, education\, and other programs available when social-distancing restrictions are lifted.
