Christy has been involved in cultural and natural resource management and outdoor recreation within New Mexico for over 30 years. Serving for 23 years with New Mexico State Parks, Christy retired as the first archaeologist and first female Director of parks. She currently provides consulting services related to outdoor recreation and higher education, resource conservation, and agency planning and management. She also volunteers with several state and national nonprofit conservation organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah grew up in New Mexico and attended both UNM and NMSU where she studied\u00a0biology\u00a0and plant ecology. She\u2019s lived and worked throughout New Mexico as a field biologist with the US Forest Service and the New Mexico Natural Heritage Program. For over 17 years, she was an outdoor educator and park manager with New Mexico State Parks. She enjoys hiking, rafting, and fixing things and is thrilled to be supporting New Mexico\u2019s youth through the YCC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jennifer Owen White<\/strong>, Refuge Manager, Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/h5>\n

Jennifer Owen-White is the first Refuge Manager of the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Valle de Oro is the first urban refuge build from the ground up under the Urban Wildlife Conservation Program as part of a larger push by U.S. Fish and Wildlife to reach urban audiences and connect them to the important habitats and wildlife that the Service protects. Before taking the position at Valle de Oro, Jennifer was the Refuge Manager at the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge and also served as the Visitor Service manager for the South Texas Refuge Complex.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
