Mobile Workshop 1 – Tuesday 12:00 – 8:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

Dedication of the 1925 Avard Fairbanks Bronze Medallion
\n<\/i>Cost: <\/b>$45 (includes dinner at Mallinson Vineyard)<\/p>\n

The bus will leave promptly at noon and follow the Independence Route of the Santa Fe, Oregon, and California National\u00a0Historic Trails.\u00a0 Participants will view the new signage and hiking trails along the route and stop at several key sites to\u00a0see ruts and interpretive wayside exhibits.\u00a0 The next stop on the\u00a0 workshop will be at the Independence Courthouse for\u00a0the dedication of the Avard Fairbanks 1925 Oregon Trail 3-foot diameter 200-pound bronze medallion.\u00a0Additional trail\u00a0stops will be made after the dedication, which will include an opportunity to hike.\u00a0 At 6:00 participants will enjoy\u00a0dinner at the Mallinson Hall and Vineyard before returning back to the hotel and conference center.<\/p>\n

Mobile Workshop 2 – Thursday<\/b> <\/b>8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
\n<\/b>Bridging the Community: The Dedication of the Powder Mill Bridge
\n<\/i>Cost: <\/b>$20<\/p>\n

This workshop will begin with a bus tour of markers along new hiking trails on the new Red Bridge at the Big Blue\u00a0River Crossing of the Independence Route.\u00a0 At 10:00 participants will attend the \u201cBridging\u00a0 Community\u201d dedication\u00a0of the spectacular Powder Mill Bridge hiking trail across I-435.\u00a0 Key leaders from across the nation will address the\u00a0attendees at this NPS Centennial event.\u00a0 A short stop will then be made at the recently constructed hiking bridge across\u00a0Highway 71 before returning back to the hotel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
