The North Country National Scenic Trail (NCNST) gives hikers the opportunity to explore the northernmost reaches of the United States. This Trail is the longest National Scenic Trail in the National Trails System at approximately 4,800 miles in length. It includes treks through seasonally snow-covered prairies, deciduous forests, views of the Great Lakes, and long stretches next to clear, flowing, fresh water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Western Terminus:<\/strong> Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota<\/span><\/p>\n

Eastern Terminus:<\/strong> Green Mountains, Vermont at the intersection of the Long Trail and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The NCNST runs through eight states. From west to east, they are: North Dakota<\/a>, Minnesota<\/a>, Wisconsin<\/a>, Michigan<\/a>, Ohio<\/a>, Pennsylvania<\/a>, New York<\/a>, and Vermont<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
