The Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) offers numerous outdoor recreation opportunities whether you prefer to hike, bike, or paddle the Potomac and Youghiogheny Rivers. The network of trails that together form the PHNST include the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, part of the Great Allegheny Passage, the Mount Vernon Trail, and more. The Trail also connects with the <\/span>Appalachian National Scenic Trail<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail,<\/span><\/a> the <\/span>Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route<\/span><\/a>, and the <\/span>Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Northwestern Terminus:<\/strong> Laurel Ridge State Park, Pennsylvania<\/span><\/p>\n

Southeastern Terminus:<\/strong> The mouth of the Potomac River, Virginia<\/span><\/p>\n

The PHNST passes through three states: <\/span>Maryland<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Virginia<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Washington D.C.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
