In commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 2021), the National History Academy invited the National Park Service, National Trails office (NTIR) to present virtually on the history of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail (ELCA) to teachers and high school students across the country. NTIR staff prepared a 25-minute video that provided the audience with an introduction to the world of national historic trails and took them along a virtual tour of sites along ELCA in New Mexico and Texas, including Martineztown Park and the Guti\u00e9rrez-Hubbell House in Albuquerque, La Bajada in the Santa Fe area, La Jornada del Muerto in southern New Mexico, and San Elizario in the El Paso area. NTIR staff then participated in a live virtual discussion with the National History Academy, teachers, and students, who also watched the premier of the video on Facebook Live during the presentation.<\/p>\n
