{"id":7141,"date":"2017-11-30T21:49:49","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T03:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pnts.org\/new\/?p=7141"},"modified":"2017-12-06T11:19:50","modified_gmt":"2017-12-06T17:19:50","slug":"7141-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pnts.org\/new\/7141-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Partnership for the National Trails System Announces National Trail Intern Grant Recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The Partnership for the National Trails System Announces National Trail Intern Grant Recipients<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Partnership for the National Trails System, in collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and US Forest Service, is pleased to announce grant recipients for their 2017-2018 National Trail Intern Grants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Trail Intern Grants will create opportunities for young adults to become involved, or further their involvement, with our national trails. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20 grants total<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> $190,000 were awarded. A list of grant awardees can be found below. These grants range in size from $3,600 to $10,000. These grants will be matched with over $70,000 in partner non-Federal cash funds, $280,400 of in-kind contributions, and $79,800 in other Federal funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These grant opportunities will help to strengthen the capacity of the organizations and agencies to help administer and manage the national scenic and historic trails.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Trail Intern grants are a splendid example of the public\/private collaboration fostered under the National Trails System Act multiplying the resources of multiple partners to to strengthen the stewardship of components of the natural and cultural heritage we share as a Nation.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;
