{"id":7368,"date":"2018-01-31T16:22:46","date_gmt":"2018-01-31T22:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pnts.org\/new\/?p=7368"},"modified":"2019-05-18T07:45:53","modified_gmt":"2019-05-18T12:45:53","slug":"potomac-heritage-nst-2017-highlights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pnts.org\/new\/potomac-heritage-nst-2017-highlights\/","title":{"rendered":"Potomac Heritage NST 2017 Highlights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Potomac Heritage Trail Association (PHTA)<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>OUTREACH<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Documentation \u2014 NPS Trail Office published three new brochures illustrating different applications of the PHT concept; PHTA released a new logo.<\/li>\n<li>Programs \u2014 NPS staff drafted a trip idea to promote continuity of experience throughout the diverse PHT network; supported three familiarity tours and a three-month long series of paddling events; demonstrated use of the PHT route marking and graphic identity guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>PROTECTION<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Inventory \u2014 NPS Trail Office supported 30 scenic viewpoint resource inventories by partner agencies in the Commonwealth of Virginia.<\/li>\n<li>Rerouting \u2014 Supported a 1.6-mile reroute of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail to enhance and preserve scenic views through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Parks, Student Conservation Association, and NPS Trail Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>CAPACITY<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Partnerships \u2014 Established agreements with other park, trail, and program offices for shared staff to enhance and manage NPS Trail Office digital media and geographic information system and design family activity guide and three new PHT publications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Unless otherwise indicated, all material in Pathways Across America is public domain.
