Since a Newfoundland dog named Seaman accompanied the Lewis and Clark expedition, four of his fictional ancestors (stuffed animal pups) will each travel segments of the trail by being mailed to partner visitor centers this summer. The idea is to create a fun way for people to connect along the trail by sharing photos of themselves with the dogs (named Dakota, Harper, Keelie, and Rocky) on social media.
