The <a title=\"Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail\" href=\"http:\/\/pnts.org\/new\/overmountain-victory-national-historic-trail\/\">Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail<\/a>\u00a0commemorates this historic campaign and its path through the mountains.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate his 50th birthday, which falls on the anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain, Jones decided to hike the Trail but discovered that, at the time, very little of the trail was actually on the ground to hike.
