Outdoors for All: Advancing Stewardship, Equity, and Wellness in Outdoor Recreation<\/strong><\/p>\n The in-person September event has been canceled, and a virtual event is being planned for fall.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals<\/a>\u00a0is excited to announce the 2020 Virtual National Outdoor Recreation Conference (NORC)! As you have likely heard, SORP and our conference partners at Tennessee State Parks recently made the difficult decision to cancel the planned in-person NORC in Knoxville, TN. While we share your disappointment, we are pleased to host a virtual version of our conference. The 2020 Virtual NORC will be made up of live (virtual) sessions, online content, networking sessions, and other opportunities to share and learn from other outdoor recreation practitioners.<\/span><\/p>\n The 2020 Virtual NORC will run for 6 weeks from\u00a0September 14 through October 23, 2020\u00a0with most virtual content scheduled every\u00a0Wednesday (September 16, 23, and 30; October 7, 14, and 21)\u00a0during three (3) blocks:<\/span><\/p>\n Block 1: 9:00 – 10:15am PDT<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Block 2: 11:00am – 12:15pm PDT<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Block 3: 1:00 – 2:00pm PDT<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n We are also scheduling additional learning and networking sessions throughout the 6-week period. Additionally, all conference content will be available on demand via the conference website if you\u2019re unable to join the live sessions. The Program Work Group is diligently working on a revised conference program (to be posted in several weeks).<\/span><\/p>\n The 2020 Virtual NORC will be available to all SORP members\u00a0(a benefit of membership!), though several sessions will be available to all (no membership required).
