Working alongside the National Park Service and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Ice Age Trail Alliance is the "boots on the ground" organization turning the vision of a 1,200-mile footpath across Wisconsin into reality. Each year, thousands of Alliance volunteers contribute hundreds of thousands of hours to Trail-related activities. From creating new Trail and maintaining existing miles, to introducing fourth-graders to the wonders of Wisconsin's glacial landscape, and restoring habitats along the Trail corridor—there are many ways to get involved and leave a lasting legacy on one of the nation's 11 National Scenic Trails. In addition to being stewards of the Trail, the Alliance is also an accredited land trust. As such, it works to conserve and protect land, creating a continuous corridor that supports critical habitats.
