OUTREACH

Website — The New England Trail Partnership launched a new website to include an interactive map, overnight site reservation system, thru-hiking page and other new features, amassing 23,000 visitors since its launch.

PROTECTION

Trailhead — The city of Easthampton, MA secured funds to develop a new trailhead and community park at Mount Tom. The parcel of land that will host the new parking area, park, and trailhead was saved from development by the City of Easthampton and Kestrel Land Trust.

Partnership — A trail wide partnership effort has been launched to strategically assess and prioritize protection needs on the NET.

CAPACITY

Inventory — A summer intern conducted a 120-mile trail asset inventory in Connecticut.

Relocation — In the Fall, an AmeriCorps NCCC team spent two weeks assisting on a backcountry trail relocation at TriMountain Scenic Reserve in Wallingford, CT.

Transition — Administration of the New England NHT has been transferred from the National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program to the management team at the Springfield Armory NHS and Coltsville NHP.
