Michelle Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. Michelle’s work history includes serving as a Biologist with the National Park Service at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, and as the Florida National Scenic Trail Manager with the U.S. Forest Service. She is currently with the Forest Service in Atlanta, Georgia. She serves as the Partnership, Volunteer, and Service Programs Manager for the Southern Region, which is comprised of thirteen states and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Michelle is also the Forest Service liaison to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
