Appalachian Trail Vista 2023
DATE August 4, 2023 - August 7, 2023 LOCATION Johnson City, TN WEBSITE https://www.atvista2023.org/ This four-day event aims to include up to 40 guided hikes, 20 educational workshops, and ten excursions throughout the Appalachian Mountains of Northeast Tennessee. The Vista will offer hiking, educational, cultural, and historical learning programs, working with Trail Maintaining Clubs, local communities, and nearby partner organizations. Our Voices Remain: Indigenous Perspectives Along the Lewis and Clark Trail
Join Mark Charles as he discusses the need for more indigenous voices in the telling of U.S. History through a discussion on the 100th Anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, and where the nation stands today since the Lewis and Clark Expedition. This event is hosted in collaboration between the National Park Service, Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, and the Partnership for the National Trails System.
