RECREATIONAL TRAILS REPORT

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recently published the 2019 Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Annual Report. The RTP provides funds to the States to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both nonmotorized and motorized recreational trail uses. This annual report describes RTP funding and administration, with examples of the variety of projects that States have funded to build and enhance recreational trails across America.

RIVERS AND TRAILS TRAINING

The Bureau of Land Management worked with its interagency partners and the Eppley Institute to release training on the management of Wild and Scenic Rivers and National Scenic and Historic Trails. Participants decide the order, progression, and time they’d like to take to complete the modules. Following each module they will complete an assessment, which requires them to demonstrate their understanding of key course concepts.
