Don Owen

Dow OwenDon Owen is a consultant for a variety of conservation organizations, including the Partnership for the National Trails System, Land Trust Alliance, the Maryland Environmental Trust, and more than a dozen other land trusts and trail organizations. He serves as the Potomac River Watershed Circuit Rider for the Alliance, assisting all-volunteer and small land trusts in the watershed build capacity and improve their operations, outreach, and fundraising efforts. Don worked more than 23 years for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the National Park Service on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. He also served as Executive Director of the Land Trust of Virginia for six years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Continental Divide Trail Coalition, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s Stewardship Council, the Mosby Heritage Area Association Advisory Board, the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Advocacy Committee, and the Partnership for the National Trails System Advocacy and Policy Committee.
