Don KingWith 44 years of experience with the National Park Service, Don started the trail portion of his career on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in 1979 and is currently the Realty Officer for the National Trails Lands Office, in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Working with a range of private and public partners over 2,500 properties have been acquired protecting 118,000 acres and 621 miles of footpath for the Appalachian Trail. The skills learned on the Appalachian Trail are now being shared with other NPS trail programs as well as the Florida National Scenic Trail and the Pacific Crest National Trail managed by the U.S. Forest Service.
