Dr. Coates currently serves as Chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at the University of North Alabama. In addition to his administrative experience, he has extensive experience leading students in service projects with the NPS. To date he has lead students in completing more than 11,000 volunteer hours building trails, constructing campsites, and various other resource management projects in several NPS units through our the country.
