Spring 2012

The PNTS National Trails System Partners Report is the first-ever attempt to display information from both sides of the public-private partnerships that define the National Trails System in a side-by-side manner for each of the national scenic and historic trails.

Each trail has one page describing the programs and focus of the primary trail stewardship organization partner(s) and the initiatives of the federal land management agency administering that trail. The report attempts to showcase the leveraging of federal dollars supporting each trail with a pie chart divided into trail federal base funding, the value of volunteer hours from the nonprofit organization partner(s), the private contributions raised by the nonprofit organization partner(s) and public contributions from state, county, city, town jurisdictions and/or funding from sovereign tribal nations.
