Charlynne T. Smith

Charlynne is a Research Associate at NC State University’s College of Natural Resources. She has over 25 years of experience in park and natural resource management having served as a park ranger, historic interpreter, researcher and educator. Charlynne’s research focus is on participatory GIS for resource management, planning and the stakeholder communication process. She facilitated development of the GIS database for the Overmountain Victory NHT, which led to her doctoral dissertation research exploring the use of geospatial technologies by the U.S. National Trail System.
