Don Owen, Senior Executive Consultant, Lands Trails and Parks LLC
Don Owen consults regularly for a variety of land trusts, parks, and trail organizations, including the Land Trust Alliance, the Partnership for the National Trails System, the Maryland Environmental Trust, the West Virginia Land Trust, the National Park Service, and dozens of other land trusts, trail organizations, and agencies. Don spent 23 years working for the National Park Service on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, where he helped acquire, protect, and manage the 250,000-acre protective corridor for the Appalachian Trail, and six years as Executive Director of the Land Trust of Virginia. He has a B.S. in Psychology from Tufts University and a M.S. in Natural Resource Administration in Outdoor Recreation from the Graduate School of Forestry and Natural Resources at Colorado State University.
