Kayla Carter, Outdoor Development Manager with the Northeast Tennessee Regional Economic Partnership
Kayla is a Northeast Tennessee native and resident who manages the newly formed Outdoor Development Program hosted by the region’s economic development organization. She has worked as a freelance writer, journalist, tourism director and has served as an AmeriCorps member for one term. You can also call her Blossom as she earned this trail name during her thru hike of the AT in 2014. Since then, Kayla has spent most weekends either maintaining her three-mile section of the AT along the Elk River, keeping it rubber side down on some local mountain bike trails or playing cover songs on her ukulele.
