Charles [“Chuck”] Roe is president of Southern Conservation Partners, Inc., a new nonprofit service center promoting alliances and providing guidance and project fiscal sponsorship for others initiating land and environmental conservation projects and promoting public appreciation for natural heritage resources across the southern U.S. (www.ConservationSouth.org ). Roe’s nearly forty-year career in land conservation has been primarily as the founding manager of the N.C. Natural Heritage Program, founding director of the Conservation Trust for North Carolina, and for the past eleven years as regional program director for the Land Trust Alliance
