In order to encourage young adults to become more involved in the National Trails System, specifically national historic trails, multiple agencies will fund a total of six scholarships for young leaders to attend the 2016 National Historic Trails Workshop. Youth participants will be an active part of the dialogue about outreach and the future of these trails. Selected participants should come ready to explore, learn, and engage!
The workshop will have both indoor and outdoor components centered around capacity building, trail resources and preservation, and technology and innovation.
Applicants must be between the age of 18-26 with an interest in the National Trails System.
Trail apprentice scholarships include full registration, transportation, meals, and lodging.
